MINEHAHA: walk, very close to Fox village, is an easily accessed example of rain forest. It is best viewed after or even under rain.
ALEX KNOB: *** Easy track with great views of Franz Josef glacier from a mountain top.

West Coast vegetation - The abundant rainfall on the West Coast produces dense forests, with thick undergrowth of ferns and mosses.

BALL SHELTER: *** Get closer to Aoraki (Mt Cook) along Tasman glacier, even better views from Ball ridge.

HOOKER VALLEY: *** Beautiful short walk giving also close views of Aoraki (Mt Cook) and Sefton, along shrub and the moraine to reach a mountaineer hut.

RED TARNS: A short day walk to get good view of Aoraki (aka Mt Cook)
