Longer trips

The three day trip, starts with a walk along the pleasant Edward's river to the hut, then a long day over two passes and Tarn col, ideal place for the lunch break.

Then down to Howden hut and back to the road along Howden river flat. Good views, interesting flora, comfortable huts, water falls.

Splendid site for a lunch stop well deserved reward after the steep final ascent

The descent to valley follows the creek, goes close to pretty waterfalls, eventually it crosses the beech forest to the riverbed. Hawdon hut is nicely sited in a clearing by the river.
